Sandra Jean (Bodick) Hoefer, age 74 of Sauk Rapids passed away the evening of April 16th.  A memorial gathering will be held Friday,  April 21, 2017 at Sacred Heart Parish in Sauk Rapids from 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. There will be a private family burial for Sandra at St. Joseph of the Lakes in Lino Lakes at a later date.

Sandra was born in Minneapolis to William and Doris Mae (Matthews) McCaffrey.  She was a 1960 graduate of Edison High School. She married Richard Bodick, Sr. in 1961, they lived in the metro area before moving to rural Foley to farm and raise their family.  Sandra was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and was an avid bowler for many years.  She remarried LeRoy Hoefer in 1999 following the death of Richard in 1988.  Sandra and LeRoy were married until his death in 2006.  They enjoyed fishing, watching the Vikings and being with their grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Christine (William) Nord of Zimmerman, Jean Mowry of Moorhead, Richard Bodick, Jr. of Saint Cloud and Wendy (Joe) Knapek of Foley. Siblings Donald McCaffrey of Japan, Linda McCaffrey of Coon Rapids and Susan (Gary) Scott of Moorpark, CA.  Grandchildren Travis Bodick, Andrew (Jennifer) Carmichael, Megan Knapek, Abigale (Brian) Pettit, Hallie Knapek, Madison Knapek and Jacob Mowry. First great-grandchild due in July to Andrew & Jennifer. 

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and husbands Richard, Sr. and LeRoy.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Canary Creek Unit of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids for the care given to her in her final years.
