Peter Stephan Engelmeyer, age 90, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Monday, February 13, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Michael Wolfbauer will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with full Military Honors. 
  Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services at the church.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
  Peter Engelmeyer was born December 16, 1926 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Stephan and Mary (Vornbrook) Engelmeyer. He married Alice Nietfeld on June 8, 1955 at St. Andrew Church in Greenwald, Minnesota.  Peter graduated from St. John's University in 1952 and earned a Master's degree in Education from St. Cloud State University in 1968. He was employed in public education for 26 years including: Barret, MN for 2 years, Brooten, MN for 1 year and Foley for 23 years.  Peter was also self-employed in computer programming for 12 years.  He retired in 1994.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the infantry of U.S. Army during 1945 and 1946 in the Philippines and Korea. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in which he served as Eucharistic minister.  He was charter president of St. John's School Board.  He was also a member of the church choir and also served as trustee, CCD instructor, lector, and usher. His hobbies included golf, cards and piano.
  He is survived by his children: Yvonne Scheeler of Sartell, Steve (Julie) of Elk River, Michael (Donna) of St. Anthony, Mary (Al) DeLong of Grey Eagle, Brian (Rebecca) of Sartell and Robert (Carla) of Bemidji; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Josephine Rehkamp, Sauk Centre.
   He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice; parents; and siblings: Catherine, Christ, Thersia, Anne, Eleanor, Clara, Alphonse, Joseph, John and Mary.
