  Louis Pietrzak, age 89, of Foley, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. 

  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 21, 2017 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. 

  Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday and from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday, all at the church in Gilman.  Parish Prayers will be at 5 PM followed by the Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 PM Thursday at the church.  

  Louis Pietrzak was born March 10, 1928 in Grahman Township, Benton Co., Minnesota to Joseph and Apolonia (Buczynski) Pietrzak.  He married Arlene Roback on June 27, 1953 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Minneapolis.  He lived and farmed all of his life in Benton County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards and traveling.  Louis enjoyed watching football and baseball and feeding and watching birds.  He was a lifelong dairy farmer and Area Supervisor for the Mallard Seed Company.  He was an active member of the Gilman Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight of the Foley Knights of Columbus; a member of the Crosier Apostolate; board member of the Gilman Creamery and the Litchfield First District Association Creamery Board.  Louis also played the saxophone in his brother Ted's band for many years.  He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  

  He is survived by his sons and daughter; Kevin (Deborah), Foley; Cary (Carolyn), Rice; David (Sandy), Foley; Loren (Betsy), Maple Grove; Sandra (Jason) Calder, Corcoran and sisters; Sophie Bohac, Morris, Ill; Roxanne Pietrzak, Seal Beach, CA; Janet Moody, Huntington Beach, CA, 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Apolonia, wife, Arlene, mother and father-in law, Peter and Clara (Lesnau) Roback, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Petrich) Pietrzak and brothers and sisters; Joseph, John, Frank, Theodore, Adam, Leo, Henry, Wanda, Amelia, Richard, Mary, Adolph and Lorraine.
