Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Moxness, age 93 of Cincinnati, OH who died September 3, 2016 at her home will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Brennyville.  Viewing will be from 9:30 until the time of the service at the church in Brennyville.  Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

 Irene Moxness was born July 17, 1923 in Granite Ledge Township, Benton Co., to Stanley and Mary (Zulawski) Stachowski.  She married John Moxness on June 15, 1946 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church.  She was born and raised near Brennyville and taught school in country schools for several years.  After the couple left Minnesota, they lived in many eastern and mid-western cities before settling in Cincinnati in 1972.  She traveled the world with her husband, John and raised a family in Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Irene began a second career as a real estate salesperson and they both retired in 2003.  John preceded her in death in 2010.  Above all, Irene enjoyed her family.  She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sitting on her back porch watching birds at her many bird feeders.  

 She is survived by her son and daughters; Mike, Anchorage, AK;  Mary Pitisci, Tallahassee, FL and Margaret Simmons, Charleston, SC and Donna Lawson, Cincinnati, OH; 6 grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Helmin of Brainerd.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John and brothers; Henry ‘Hank’ Stachowski and Art Stachowski.
