Dana Backstrom, age 50, of Foley, died suddenly Saturday, February 18, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident.  A Celebration of Life with potluck luncheon will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Legends Bar & Grill (downstairs), 825 E. Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN  55414.

   Dana Marie Backstrom was born September 6, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Michael and Rosemary (Hughes) Dittrich.  She was raised in the Twin Cities and graduated from Minnetonka High School. Dana had been in the Milaca and Foley area since 2012 and was looking forward to moving to Las Vegas to be close to her mother. She was employed by Trobec’s Bus Service and loved transporting children.  She lived life to the fullest as a free spirit and brought much joy to others in her 50 years here.  

  She will forever be in the hearts of her children:  Erin Hase of Afton, Myriah Zechmeister of Minneapolis, Ricky Nunn of Minneapolis and Kristi-Lynn 'Munch' Zechmeister of Foley; grandchildren:  Roaen, Skylar, Gavin, Ellis, Tate, Taj, Naleigha and Nikoli; mother, Rosi (Sonny) Boline of Las Vegas; brother, Jason Dittrich of Foley; foster brother, Jason Scott of Colorado; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.  

   Dana was preceded in death by her father, Michael and aunt, Dani Grudem.
